Gary Dean Brandon, 69, of Johnson City, died Monday, July 15, 2019 at his residence. He was a native of Johnson City, son of the late Leonard and Christine Julian Brandon.
Gary was a retired machinist in the manufacturing industry.
He attended the Assembly Baptist Church in Unicoi County.
Gary served in the military in both the U. S. Army and the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
In addition to his parents, a sister, Dorothy McGowan preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Karen Kitzmiller Brandon of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, David W. and Amanda Matzner of Wise, VA, a son Jerry L. Brandon of Greeneville, a son and daughter-in-law, James “Jimmy” and Rebecca Brandon of Johnson City and son Dereck A. Brandon of Johnson City; a daughter, Deanna Kay Brandon of Johnson City; a brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Darlene Brandon of Clarksville, TN and a sister, Linda Monaghan of Fredricksburg, VA; thirteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A committal service will be conducted on Friday, July 19, 2019 at 11:30 am at the Mountain Home National Cemetery in the Annex section. Services will be conducted by a VA Chaplain and military honors will be accorded by the Tennessee National Guard. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the Annex office by 11:15 am.
