Gary Edward Mosier, 75, of Fall Branch, passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, September 3, 2019, following an extended illness at Lakebridge Health Care Center.
Gary was a native of Washington County, a son of the late JD and Daisy Gibson Mosier.
He spent twenty years as an Air Traffic Controller for the United States Air Force, before entering a second career as a Flight Inspection Pilot for the Federal Aviation Administration.
Gary loved to fly, whether at work or play. He also spent a lot of time traveling by RV, and loved spending time with his family. He also enjoyed camping and attending music festivals.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Tarlton.
Survivors include: his wife of nearly 57 years, Peggy Campbell Mosier; children, Gary Lynn Mosier and his wife Stephanie, and Bob Mosier and his wife Liz; grandchildren, Kimberly Mosier, Jennifer Sloan, Joshua Mosier and his wife Shanelle, Jessie Mosier, Nicole Gleichner, Michelle Ivanovski and her husband Mike, and Michael Gleichner; and great-grandchildren, Conner, Dylan, Svetlana, and AraBella.
The family of Gary Mosier will receive friends from 4:00 to 5:00 on Thursday, September 5, 2019, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 5:00 PM, officiated by Pastor Ron Owens. A committal will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, September 6, 2019, at Washington County Memory Gardens. Those attending are asked to gather at the graveside by 12:50 PM.
Pall bearers will be selected from family and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made in Gary Mosier’s honor to the Oak Hill Baptist Church, and will in turn be used for the Community Help Center.
