Geneva Grace Vest

Geneva Grace Vest, 89, of 1006 Crocus Street, Johnson City died Sunday, May 9, 2010 at her residence. Mrs. Vest was a native of Jacksonville, Florida and had lived in Tennessee most of her life. She was a daughter of the late Allen and Frances Buckles. Mrs. Vest was a retired cook at Dawn of Hope with twenty years of service. She was a member of the Princeton Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Vest is preceded in death by: her husband, R.C. Vest in 2002; two daughters, Jean Broyles and Donna Jane Brooks; and one grandson, Robert Stout. Survivors include: one daughter, Patsy Stout of the home; six grandchildren, Sammy Stout of Johnson City, Lisa Keener and husband Kameron of Lincolnton, NC, Kim Moore and husband Richard of Johnson City, David Broyles and wife Mary Ann of Johnson City, L.B. Brooks, Jr. and wife Sherry of Johnson City, and Craig Brooks and wife Kayla of Johnson City; five great grandchildren, Brandon Keener, Coty Broyles, Blake Moore, Cassie Broyles and Brittany Allen; special friends Bluebird Merritt and Sandra Clawson; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family of Geneva Grace Vest will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 PM Thursday, May 13, 2010 at the Morris-Baker Funereal Home. A graveside funeral service will follow at 3 PM in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Mr. Frank Chapo, Minister will officiate. Family members will serve as active pallbearers.
