George William Wilson, 67, of Johnson City, passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2020, at the Johnson City Medical Center.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City, and a son of Dan H. Wilson and Lorna Davenport Wilson.
George loved cars, working for many years at Chapparal as both mechanic and service manager. Even after retirement, it was hard to keep him out from under the hood.
Even more than helping cars, George loved helping people. He would do everything he could for anybody who needed it, and sometimes for those who didn't just because he knew he could. He was a beloved member of his community, who made a friend in anyone who gave him enough time.
Preceding him in death are: his father, Dan H. Wilson; brothers, Danny C. Wilson and Tom G. Wilson; sister, Cindy K. Wilson Gentry; and close friend, Bear.
Those left to cherish his memory are: his wife, Tammy Baker Wilson; children, Tanya Miller and husband Jason Stode, Dusty Miller and wife Cameron; sisters, Kathy Wilson and Connie Wilson and her husband Keith McNabb; grandchildren, Emma, Kendra, Tiffany, Bentley, Caleb, Jayden, Braiden and Keylen; loving nephews, Micah, Hezekiah, and Nehemiah Bellamy; as well as many more special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and his dogs, who he absolutely loved like his own kids.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to, his Aunt Liddy, and special family members, Mary Beth "Moo" Harris and Mark Harris. Also, the family deeply appreciates all the kind friends and family that have come together to donate their time and money to make these services possible.
The family of George Wilson will receive friends from 12:30 PM until 2:30 PM on Friday, October 16, 2020 at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 PM at Washington County Memory Gardens. Friends and family are asked to gather under the portico of the mausoleum chapel by 2:50 PM.
