Georgia Mclemore

March 23, 1933 — April 18, 2020

Georgia Hazel Roberts McLemore, 87, of Johnson City, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2020, at the Johnson City Medical Center.

She was born in Hancock County, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Bart Roberts and Minnie Livesay Roberts.

Georgia loved to stay active throughout her life. She enjoyed her time as a student at ETSU, and went on to work for Steinway Clothing, Dollar General, and as a switch technician for ITT North Electric. At home, she was a great cook and a wonderful baker, always excited to bring a dessert for any event. She could sew anything you asked her to, from clothing to quilts, drapes to upholstery. Georgia was also an avid gardener, a hobby she kept up for as long as she was able.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by: her husband of 46 years, Roy McLemore Sr.; one son, Steven McLemore Sr.; one brother, Hubert Roberts and wife Angeline; two sisters, Louise Greene and husband Matt, and Mary Green and husband Dallas; and one son-in-law, Benny J. Buck.

Survivors include: her children, Sharon Buck of Elizabethon, and Roy M. McLemore Jr. and wife Elizabeth of Church Hill; for grandchildren, Nicholas Buck and wife Allison, Steven McLemore Jr. and wife Sara, Ashley McLemore Wise and husband Casey, and Dallas McLemore; two great-grandchildren, Cameron Buck and Mason Buck; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a special daughter in heart, Sherry Brewer Campbell.

The family of Georgia McLemore will not be receiving friends due to the current limitations on public gathering.Those who wish to pay respects to Mrs. McLemore may do so privately between the hours of 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. We request that no more than 3 people arrive at once.

Funeral Services will be held privately, with a private interment at Washington County Memory Gardens to follow. Roy McLemore Jr., Nicholas Buck, Steve McLemore Jr., Cameron Buck, Dallas McLemore, Casey Wise, and Mason Buck will act as pallbearers.
