Mrs. Gladys Kathryn Webster, formerly of 1705 West Lakeview Drive, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 29, 2010 in the Broadmore Assisted Living. She was a native of Knoxville and moved to Johnson City in 1957. She was born on October 11, 1916 a daughter of the late Scott and Gertie Smith Palmer. Mrs. Webster was a homemaker and a member of Skyline Heights Baptist Church and the Willing Workers Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude R. Webster on February 2, 1992, and in addition to her parents Gladys was preceded in death by two sisters, Velma Webster and Betty Hall, five brothers, Arthur, Frank, Thomas, John and Mack Palmer of Knoxville. She is survived by one daughter, Wilma Snyder and husband Haskel, of Bristol, TN; two sons, Claude R. 'Bob'? Webster and his wife Grace, Modesto, California, Thomas 'Tom'? Webster and wife Vicki, of Johnson City; one sister, Louise Davis of Knoxville; five grandchildren, Jim Snyder and his wife Christy, of Rockford, Tn., Ken Snyder and his wife Deanna of Johnson City, John Snyder and his wife Natasha of Bristol, TN, and Scott Webster and his wife Simone, of California; two granddaughters, Adrienne W. Cook and her husband Jerry of Johnson City, and Kathy Burdge and her husband Joe of Mantaca, California; eight great grandchildren, Laurel and Graham Cook, of Johnson City, Lauren Snyder of Johnson City, Joshua and Jessica Burdge of California, Dakota, Levi, Chole Webster of California, Mack Hollifield, Jubilee and Maxx Gage; several sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Mrs. Gladys Kathryn Webster will be conducted at 8 PM Sunday October 31, 2010 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Ron Owens and Pastor Mike Garland will officiate. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 11 AM Monday in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Jim Snyder, Ken Snyder, John Snyder, Jerry Cook and Mark Hollifield. Honorary pallbearers will be Graham Cook and Maxx Gage. Ministers, family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 AM Monday to go in procession. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Sunday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimers Association, 207 N. Boone Street, Johnson City, Tn. 37604 or Shepherds Breakfast at Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church, 201 E. Market Street, Johnson City, Tn. 37601.
