Glen J. Clowers, 81, of Navaho Drive, Johnson City, died Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at his home after an extended illness. A native of Greene County, he had lived in Johnson City for 39 years. Mr. Clowers was attending Marvin?s Chapel Methodist Church. Mr. Clowers managed Super Dollar Stores in Rogersville and the first Food City in Johnson City. He retired as an agent with Modern Woodman of America. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army Reserve. He was preceded in death by parents, Estle and Oneita Clowers, a brother, Marion Clowers, and wife, Sandra Jean Seay Clowers, as well as step-son, Todd Anderson. Survivors include: his wife, Linda Anderson Clowers of Johnson City; four children, Michael Clowers (Dana) of Little Rock, Arkansas, Lisa Jarrett (Randy) of Jonesborough, Mary Yarber of Johnson City, and Sonya Robinson of Redmond, Washington; step-son, Mark Anderson (Karen) of Erwin; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers, Duane Clowers (Mary Helen) of Greeneville and Rick Clowers (Sandy) of Johnson City; and eleven nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Joyce Buckles Campbell for her untiring service to Mr. Clowers during his illness and to special friends, Wayne and Patsy Bailey. The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 8pm Sunday, with Rev. Rick Clowers officiating. The graveside service is scheduled for 11am Monday, April 27, 2015 at Hartman?s Chapel Church, 3497 Old Kentucky Rd. W., Mosheim, TN.
