Glenna Gay Morrison

Glenna G. 'Nanny'? Morrison, 98, 3613 Courtland Circle, Kingsport, died Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at her residence. Mrs. Morrison was a native of Greene County and had lived in Johnson City for 35 years and relocated in Colonial Heights for the past 20 years. She was a daughter of the late Eli and Pearl Alice Malone Gass and was also preceded in death by her husband, John F. Morrison; three brothers, Clarence, Willard and Kay Gass; one sister, Joda Gass and one grandson, Johnathan Brent Slaughter. Mrs. Morrison was a retired sales clerk at the Remnant Shop in Johnson City. Survivors include one daughter, Marilyn Slaughter and her husband, John, Colonial Heights; two grandchildren, Chantele (Kacee) Adams and her husband, Todd, Bluff City and Kasha Slaughter and her fiancée, Kevin Bartley; three great grandchildren, Kailey, Kagan and Kyden Adams. Visitation will be on Thursday, March 5, 2009 from 6-8 pm with a funeral service at 8 pm at the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. Reverend Todd Adams will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 11 am Friday at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 10:40 am and travel in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be L.E. Jones, Gary Jones, John Slaughter, Kevin Bartley, Larry Denny and Charles Denny. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Cox and Roy Gwaltney.
