Gracie Allen Saylor, age 83, of Pinckney, Michigan, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2023.
Gracie was born on July 13, 1940, in Carter County, Tennessee, to the late William and Cordia Pealer.
Gracie married the love of her life, Kenneth Saylor, on May 23, 1959. In 1967, she and Kenneth moved to Michigan, where they raised their four children. Gracie was a homemaker, and a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who showed her family unconditional love and what a hero looks like. She was a phenomenal cook and a talented quilter. She will be greatly missed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Dennis Saylor; granddaughter, Amanda Saylor; and eight brothers and sisters.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 64 years, Kenneth Saylor; children, Richard (Jennifer) Saylor, Tony (Megan) Saylor, and Rachel Steinaway; grandchildren, Taylor Steinaway, Megean Steinaway, Ken Steinaway, Ken Saylor, Luke Saylor, Marissa Saylor, Richard Saylor, Sue Ann Saylor, and Christina Saylor; and several great-grandchildren.
Gracie’s family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm on Friday, September 8, 2023, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A funeral service will commence the following day, at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Calvary Baptist Church (515 Hart Ave, Johnson City), under the direction of Pastor Jim Chatman. A committal service will immediately follow, at Washington County Memory Gardens (113 Memory Gardens Rd, Johnson City). Those attending the committal service are asked to meet at the cemetery.
Active pallbearers include: Richard Saylor, Tony Saylor, Luke Saylor, Richard Saylor, Hunter Riley, and Dylan Moore.
