Graden Trentham Jr., 90, of Johnson City died Tuesday, September 16, 2014 at Princeton Transitional Care in Johnson City. Mr. Trentham was a Parrottsville, TN native and a son of the late Gradon William and Ella Holt Trentham. After graduating from Parrottville High School, Mr. Trentham entered service in the U. S. Navy. He was a World War II combat veteran, serving as a signalman on the USS Vicksburg (CL-86). He was present at Okinawa, Iwo Jima, and the surrender at Tokyo Bay. Following the war, he and his wife, CL Dockery Trentham, relocated to Johnson City. He was an active member in the First Church of God and formerly at Tacoma Church of God. He taught Sunday school for over forty years. He formerly served as church chairman, trustee, and held other offices at First Church of God. In addition to his parents, Mr. Trentham was preceded in death by: four brothers, Maurice Roy Trentham, J. H. Trentham, Robert 'Bob'? Trentham, and Curtis Lee Trentham, and mother-in-law, Geneva Caldwell Dockery. Survivors include: his wife, CL Dockery Trentham, of the home; son, Jimmy Keith Trentham, and his wife Joanna, Williamsburg, VA; brother, Fred Ray Trentham and his wife Ruth, Newport; and several nieces and nephews.
