Gustaf Edward Brown

Gustaf Edward Brown, Jr., 70, of Piney Flats died Friday, December 6, 2013 at his home. He was an Alexandria, VA native and the only child of the late Gustaf Edward Brown, Sr. and Francis 'Tom'? Pressgrove Brown. Gus graduated from George Washington High School in Alexandria, VA and attended Bluefield College in Bluefield, VA, majoring in business. He worked as an insurance salesman before retiring. Gus greatly enjoyed attending auctions and tradeshows, was an avid hunter, and a practical joker. Gus is survived by: his wife, Patricia Moore Brown, of the home; two sons, Dan Brown, Austin, TX, and Scott Brown and his wife Ami, Fredericksburg, VA; one daughter, Kelly Brown Jenkins and her husband Dave, Bluemont, VA; two step-daughters, Darci Lyons and her husband Jonathan, Knoxville, and Dani Nicole Hoilman, Johnson City; ten grandchildren, Asa Gustaf Brown, Jonah Brown, Jadyn Brown, Jami Brown, Molly Jenkins, Kendall Jenkins, Emma Jenkins, Riley Lyons, Kelsi Lyons, and Mason Douglas Casey. A celebration of life gathering and lunch is scheduled for noon on Monday, December 9, 2013 at the Ruritan Club Community Center, 273 Old US Highway 11E, Piney Flats, TN 37686 (across from Mary Hughes School).
