Harold Anderson Newland

Harold Anderson Newland, 89, of Johnson City, died Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Hillview Healthcare in Elizabethton. He was a native of Bristol, TN, son of the late James Decatuer and Carrie Spencer Snyder Newland.
Harold was a 1948 graduate of Blountville High School.
He was a member of First Christian Church since 1965 and a member of the Wina Kuple Sunday school class.
He was secretary-treasurer of the Downtown Merchants Association for many years.
Harold was a banker and most will remember him from First Peoples Bank (downtown branch) through several name changes and Home Federal Savings and Loan.
In addition to his parents, his wife, Judith Sims Newland (2018), a brother, Sam Newland preceded him in death.
He is survived by a sister-in-law, Jennie Ottinger and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Saturday, June 29, 2019 from 12:30 pm until 1:30 pm. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 pm in the Oak Chapel under the direction of Dr. Donald Mushayamunda. A committal is scheduled to follow at 3:00 pm at Roselawn Memory Gardens.
