Harold L. Baskett, 91, of Jonesborough, Tennessee, passed away at the Johnson City Medical Center on Saturday, March 22, 2025.

He was born January 18, 1934, in Washington County, Tennessee, to the late Everett and Agnes Cochran Baskett. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Mosier Baskett; brother, Raymond Baskett; and sisters, Velma McIntosh and Norma Whitehead.

Harold is a retired U.S. Navy veteran, having served during the Korean and Vietnam wars.

Survivors include his son, Terry Southern and wife, Eloisa of Indiana; daughter, Deborah McClain of Murfreesboro, TN; stepson, Terry Poarch of Sulphur Springs; sisters, Ruth Fox, Evelyn Baskett, and Betty (James) Branch, all of Johnson City; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and two step great-grandchildren.

Harold’s family will receive friends from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. A committal service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Mountain Home National Cemetery (Historic side), under the direction of Pastor Kenneth Grindstaff and Pastor John Herdman. Those attending are asked to meet at the cemetery.
