Harold Edward Peeks

Harold Edward Peeks, 86, 122 Bright Ridge Drive, died Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at the James H. Quillen Medical Center. Mr. Peeks was a native of Elizabethton and had lived most of his life in Washington County and a son of the late David Norman Peeks and Eliza Bowers Peeks. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Rosella Peeks and Novella Peeks Webster and one brother, Eldrede Peeks. He was a WWII US Army veteran. Mr. Peeks was retired from the National Life Insurance Company. He was a Baptist and a member of the Boones Creek Ruritan Club. Mr. Peeks is survived by his wife, Georgia Stanley Peeks; one daughter, Saundra Cole, Johnson City; one brother, David Peeks Jr., Johnson City; one sister, Crystal Gay, Pensacola, FL and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Mr. Peeks will be held at 7:30 PM Friday, March 3, 2006 from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. Reverend Kenneth Kyker and Rev. Charles 'Toonie' Cash will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, March 4, 2006 at Roselawn Memory Gardens. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 AM and travel in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be David Hill, Arthur Garland, Bill Riddle, Richard Street, Damos Grogg and Leonard Bowman. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Boones Creek Ruritan Club. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 PM Friday, March 3, 2006 at the funeral home.
