Harold R. Hicks

Mr. Harold R. Hicks, age 66, of Gray, passed away, Thursday, March 29, 2012 at his residence. Mr. Hicks was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County. He was the son of the late Sylvester Hicks and Hazel Hicks. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Junior Hicks and Shelby Hicks. Mr. Hicks was a U.S. Marine veteran having served in the Vietnam War. Survivors include: his loving wife of forty-six years, Brenda S. Hicks of the home; three sisters, Ruby Keplinger and her husband Bob, Elsie McHaffey and her husband Jimmy and Nora Wright and her husband Johnny; one uncle, Fred Trivett and his wife Georgia of Butler; several nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Mr. Harold R. Hicks will be conducted at 1 PM Monday, April 2, 2012 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. The graveside committal service will follow in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jay Davis, Greg Davis, Gabriel Douglas, Harold Lee Davis, Ricky Harrell, Wesley Spurlock, Les Spurlock and Shawn Hilbert. The Boone Dam Post # 4933 and the Tennessee National Guard will accord military honors. The family will receive friends from 12 to 1 PM Monday prior to the service.
