Harry Eugene Evans

Mr. Harry 'Gene'? Eugene Evans, 85, of Johnson City, died Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. A native of Johnson City, he was the son of the late W.H. and Angie Houchins Evans. Mr. Evans served in the US Navy during WWII and was later self-employed as a brick mason. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three sisters, Vivian Freeman, Elizabeth Leonard, and Dorothy Crosby. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen J. Evans of the home; son Larry Evans and wife Lisa of Piney Flats; three grandsons, Jonathan, Jordan, and Matthew Evans; brothers and sisters-in-law; Teresa 'Sis'? Moore, David Cannon, Jean Cannon, Helen Crawford, Roy Crawford, Wanda Sawyer, Alan Sawyer, Earnest Johnson, Betty Johnson Estell Crawford, and Dale Moore; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Jane Thomas and Ray and Queenie Gates. A graveside service will be held, Saturday, May 26, 2012 11:00am, at Monte Vista Memorial Park, with Austin Jenkins officiating.
