Hazel Elaine Wilson

Mrs. Hazel Elaine Wilson, 87, of Unicoi, passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017. Mrs. Wilson was a Unicoi County native and the daughter of the late Hunter and Mamie Garland. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Wilson; brothers, James, Charles, and Clyde Garland; and sisters, Florence Cooper and Doris Edwards. Hazel was of Baptist faith and loved to sew, quilt, and spend time in her vegetable and flower garden. She enjoyed canning the fruits of her labor and having beautiful flowers all summer long. She also loved her dachshund, Jessie. She worked at Steinway in Johnson City for a few years and then worked in Erwin at Industrial Garment where she retired. Left to cherish her memory are: son, James Wilson of Piney Flats; daughter, Judy Wilson of Ft. Myers, FL; grandchildren, James Anthony, Jacob, Joshua, Justin, Jonathan, and Jessica Wilson, and Ashley, Heather, Lauren, and Adam Wilson; great grandchildren, Jack Capps and Charlotte Wilson; sisters, Betty Raby of Johnson City, Virginia Garland of Erwin, Kathleen Harvey of Johnson City, Gladys Osborne (Carrick ?Tick') of Unicoi, Wanda Miller of Unicoi, and Carolyn Garland (David) of Jonesborough; and several nieces and nephews. The family of Hazel Wilson will receive friends from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. Following the visitation, family and friends will proceed to Roselawn Memory Gardens for a 3 pm graveside service.
