Hazel Oakes

Mrs. Hazel A. Oakes, 82, of Johnson City, died Thursday, April 5, 2012, at her home. A native of Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Nannie Ellen Armstrong. Hazel was a member of Oakland Avenue Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Berkley Oakes; three sisters and four brothers. She is survived by her loving children, Tracey Lynn Ward; Lee Oakes and wife Laura; five grandchildren, Haley, William, and Harley Keene, and Blake and Brooke Oakes; and one great grandchild, Shayla Brian.
