Helen Mae Tipton

Helen Mae Tipton, 74, Johnson City, passed away Saturday, July 8, 2017 at NHC HealthCare. Helen was born in Kingsport to the late Claude and Daisy Ratliff Simpson. Helen was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed traveling, camping and staying active. She retired from Washington County 911 dispatch after 23 years. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald Simpson. Survivors include: her husband, Darrell Tipton, they were together for 27 years; two sons, Carl Bishop and his girlfriend Cindy and Chuck Simpson and his wife Robin; one brother, G.S. Simpson and his wife Wanda; two sisters, Janet Simpson and her husband David and Marjorie Deboer and her husband Dale; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews; one special niece, Renee Wilder; one aunt, Betty Ratliff; and many friends at the Sheriff?s Department and THP. The family of Helen Tipton will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Morris-Baker. A committal service will follow at 1:00 PM at Liberty Church of the Brethren Cemetery, 844 Liberty Church Rd., Kinsport, TN. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
