Henry John Triplett, 89, of 2509 Larkspur Drive, Johnson City, died Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at his residence. He was a native of Doeville, Tennessee, son of the late Rebecca Triplett Carroll. Henry was a veteran of WWII having served in the U. S. Navy. He was a retired electrician, retiring twice, once from Jones Electric and a second time from Harmon Ice Company. Henry was a member of the North Johnson City Baptist Church. He loved his grandchildren, fishing, bowling and golf. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley 'Susie'? Triplett; two sisters, Elsie Isaacs and Dot Greer; a brother, Ray Triplett. Survivors include: his wife of 70 years, Hazel Norris Triplett of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Beth Triplett Bradford (Wayne) of Knoxville; a son, Jerry Norris Triplett of Johnson City; a son-in-law, Roy Merritt of Knoxville; a brother-in-law and his wife, Charles P. Norris (Fay) of Johnson City; six grandchildren, Dawn Merritt, Kristina Rutherford, Jerry Triplett, Jr., Marty Triplett, Joseph Paul Bradford and Faith Bradford Owen; fourteen great grandchildren, Nikki Barr, Michael Cartwright, Amanda McEwen, Jennifer McEwen, Alexander Holbrook, Chase, Roger, and Hunter Rutherford, Donavon, James, Gabriel, Tristan and Ethan Triplett, Destiny Josie Bradford; two great great grandchildren, MacKenzie and Gage Barr; several nieces and nephews. The Triplett family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 9, 2010 at the Morris '? Baker Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 8:00 p.m. under the direction of Rev. Ed Scarbrough and Rev. Rick Powell. A committal service will be conducted on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:40 a.m. to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be: Randy, Danny and Mike Norris, Harry Harmon, Ken Howell and Van Neely. Honorary pallbearers will be: Andy and Reece Harmon, Ronnie Bacon, Kenny Lowe, Eddie Donaldson, Mike Owens, Jim Calhoun, Delmas Dugger and Kevin Pryor.
