Herbert Hayes Piercy, Jr.

Herbert Hayes Piercy, Jr. went home to be with the Lord on Monday February 14, 2011 at NHC Healthcare in Johnson City.He was a native of Johnson City and a son of the late Herbert H. and Lillie Mae Odom Piercy. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Louise Milhorn and his loving companion of 22 years, Ruth Tester, step son Wayne Tester, Johnson City, Granddaughter Cheri Lilly and grandson Louie Piercy, sister, Thelma G. Piercy, and two brothers, Edwin L. Piercy, Johnson City, TN and Robert 'Bob'? Hartsell Piercy, Asheville, NC Mr. Piercy was retired from Leon Ferenbach as a mechanic with 35 years of service. He was an avid bowler during his younger years.Mr. Piercy was a member of the East Park Grove Pine United Methodist Church.Survivors include; four sons, Herbert and wife, Becky, Knoxville, Kenneth Louis and wife Carole, Asheville, NC, Paul Lee and wife ,Joyce, Bristol, TN and Danny Tester and wife, Jennifer of Johnson City; three daughters, Linda Kaye Hyder and husband, Fletcher, Nancy Ann Piercy, all of Conyers, GA and Carolyn Piercy Landers of Johnson City; four step children, Brenda Fuller and husband, Richard of Lincolnton, NC, Gail Wiseman and husband, Gary, Johnson City, Becky Garland, Cummings, GA and Doug Tester of Johnson City; one sister, Doris Robinson of Asheville, NC; 17 Grandchildren, 19 Great Grandchildren, 6 step Grandchildren and 6 step Great Grandchildren; several nieces an nephews. Services will be conducted at 8:00pm Thursday, February 17, 2011 from the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Dr. C. Dwayne Baird will officiate. Burial services will be held at 11:00am Friday in the Washington County Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be chosen by the family. The family and friends will meet at the funeral home and leave in procession for the cemetery at 10:30 am on Friday. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00pm on Thursday.
