Herman Big Al Nicholson

June 29, 2012 heavens gate opened and an angel was invited in. Alvin 'Big Al'? Nicholson went to be with the Lord. Mr. Nicholson was a mechanic for the City of Johnson City for over 20 years. Some of his hobbies in life were rebuilding classic cars, riding motorcycles and fishing. His true passion in life was his love for music, especially the drums. He performed with various bands in the tri-cities area for over 30 years. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is preceded in death by his mother, Thelma Nicholson; father Herman Nicholson; and his brother Ronnie Nicholson. Survivors include his loving wife of 29 year, Debbie Nicholson; sister Angela Nicholson of Oklahoma; brother Eddie Nicholson and wife Becky of Florida; brother Darren Nicholson and wife LaQuita of Tennessee; five children, April Nicholson Bowlin and husband Edgar, Chris Nicholson and wife Lisa, Daniel Greer and wife Adeline, Tim Greer and wife Jamie, Crystal Cooke, and husband Andrew; and eight grandchildren. The family will receive friends, Tuesday, from 12-2:00pm, at Morris Baker Funeral Home with services immediately following at 2:00pm with Rev. Robert Fultz officiating. Burial will be private to the family.
