Herman L. 'Bud'? Cross, 73, formerly of Johnson City, now of Leland, North Carolina, died Wednesday, September 26, 2007 in North Carolina. He was a native of Washington County, son of the late Aner S. and Mary Ford Cross. Herman was a proud veteran of the Korean War, having served in the U. S. Marines during the postwar period. He was a professional and talented Millwright in industrial construction, and was a part of the building of the Dupont plant in Leland, working with the Daniels Construction Company and later the B&K Construction Company. He was of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife of 51 years: Anna Cross of Leland, NC; three children, Pam (& Ken) Knowles of Panama City, Florida; Chet (& Pam) Cross of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania and Morris (& Cindy) Cross of Granite Falls, Minnesota; six grandchildren, Jason (& Jaye) Marshburn, Kelley (& Michael ) Folk, Sarah Cross, Samantha Cross, Paige Cross and Allyson Cross; a great grandson, Lucas Marshburn and an expected great grandson, Mason Folk; a sister, Dorothy Mason; several nieces and nephews. A graveside service is scheduled for Monday, October 10, 2007 in the Monte Vista Memorial Park at 11:00a.m. Military honors will be provided by the VFW #3382 of Kingsport and the Tennessee National Guard. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 30, 2007 at the Morris '' Baker Funeral Home from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
