Howard T. Curtis, 87, of 801 Austin Springs Road, in Johnson City passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Lakebridge Healthcare Center.He was a Washington County native and a son of the late Andrew Martin and Paralee Copas Curtis. He was also preceded in death by his wife, of 62 years, Virginia, and by four brothers, Ernest, Julian,Gary and Jerry also one sister, Lexie.Mr. Curtis was a U. S. Army, W.W.II veteran. He was of the Methodist faith. Mr. Curtis loved to hunt and fish and was a founding member of the Unaka Rod and Gun Club. Survivors include; two sons, Andy Curtis of Gahanna, OH and Ray Curtis of Johnson City; five brothers, Carl Curtis of Gray, J. B. Curtis of Jonesborough, Bill Curtis of Spring Hill, FL, Maynard Curtis of Jonesborough and Kenneth Curtis of Tuscon, AZ; three sisters; Ruth Brant of Johnson City, Marie Smith of Las Cruces, New Mexico and Racheal Godsey of Gray; three Grandchildren, Mark Curtis, Brian Curtis and Tracy Hickman; one Great Grandson Landon Curtis.The family will receive friends in the Morris-Baker South Chapel from 5:30 until 7:00 pm Tuesday, January 25, 2011 followed by the funeral service at 7:00pm Mr. Roland Whittemore will officiate. Burial will be in the U. S. National Cemetery at Mountain Home at 10:00am Wednesday. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home by 9:30 am on Wednesday and proceed to the cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark Curtis, Brian Curtis, J. B. Curtis, Maynard Curtis, Joe Curtis, Tracy Hickman, C. B. Kinch and Earl Rice. Full Military Honors will be accorded by the VFW Post #4933
