Hubert Ray Davenport, 72, of 105 Meridith Street, Johnson City, died Tuesday, September 25, 2007, at the Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Davenport was a Knoxville native and a son of the late Jess and Lucille Talley Davenport. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ted Davenport. He was a charter member of Hillcrest United Methodist Church in Knoxville, the Knoxville Scottish Rites Bodies, and Johnson City Masonic Lodge #486. Mr. Davenport retired from General Shale Brick, was former plant superintendent of Harris Manufacturing, was a former employee of Robinson Plumbing Supply, and was the owner of Hugh Davenport plumbing. His hobbies included gardening, fishing, old cars, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-granddaughters. When he wasnt gardening at home, he was volunteering at Bloomers Floral and Gifts. Survivors include: his wife of 53 years, Patricia JoAnn Stanton Davenport, of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Denise Young Davenport, Johnson City, Rick and Kim Klepper Davenport, Kingsport, and Kevin and Ginger Thatcher Davenport, Sulpher Springs; daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Keith Jeffers, Limestone, Tammy and Melvin Williams, Telford, and Jill Davenport and Andy Walker, Johnson City; 12 grandchildren, Kristy Davenport & Billy Williams, Lauren Davenport & Andy Kidd, Megan Davenport, Dave & Lindsay Davenport Pann, Billy & Amie Williams Ellis, Carson Davenport, Mitchell & Matthew Jeffers, Justin & Kelly Walker, and Beverly & Neil Davenport; and two special great-granddaughters, Mason & Mallorie Williams. Funeral services for Mr. Davenport will be conducted 8:00 pm Wednesday from the Morris-Baker North Chapel. Rev. Al South will officiate. Special music will be provided by Phil Adcock and Cody Baskett. Active pallbearers will be Mr. Davenports grandsons. Committal services will be conducted 11:00 am Thursday from the Fairview Cemetery, Jonesborough. Family and friends will meet at Morris-Baker by 10:15 am to go in procession to the cemetery for those services. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday at Morris-Baker
