Hunt Wimbish Archer

Mr. Hunt Wimbish Archer passed away at the age of 91 in Jonesborough on Saturday, December 7, 2013. Mr. Archer was the son of the late James Milton and Nannie Coleman Wimbish Archer. Mr. Archer is survived by his daughter Susan Archer and her husband Ron Pafford; his son Lewis Archer and his wife Ginny; grandchildren Kristen Archer, Adam Archer and Jacy Archer Reardon, his sister-in-law Regine Archer, and several nieces,nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister Mary Archer Dietz, his brother James Archer, and in 2012, his beloved wife Lee Hall Archer. Mr. Archer was born March 28, 1922 and was a native of Saltville, Virginia. He was a veteran of the European Theatre of World War II. He graduated with a degree in Ceramic engineering from Virginia Tech and had a career as a Brick Manufacturer with General Shale and Maryland Clay Products. Mr. Archer was a life-long active member of the United Methodist Church. Memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church Johnson City, 900 Spring Street, Johnson City, and Tn. 37604. The funeral service for Mr. Hunt Wimbish Archer will be conducted at 2 PM Monday, December 9, 2013 in the Morris-Baker North Chapel. Rev. Garland Thayer will officiate. The graveside committal service will follow. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The VFW Post # 4933 and the Tennessee National Guard will accord military honors. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM Monday prior to the service.
