Ida B. Campbell

Ida Berry Campbell, 78, of Ivy Hall Nursing Home, formerly of the Range Community, Watauga, went to be with her Lord and her husband, Jim, Monday, April 20, 2009 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. She was born and raised in the Stoney Creek Community of Carter County and had lived in Watauga since 1951. She was a daughter of the late William C. Berry and Burnie Buckles Berry. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Campbell was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James H. 'Jim'? Campbell in June of 2004, brothers, William A. Berry, John B. Berry and Kenneth Q. Berry; sisters, Iva Garland and Florine Keller, and a niece, Patsy Garland Peters. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and enjoyed for many years, teaching pre-schoolers in Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. Mrs. Campbell was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Before her illness she enjoyed gardening, canning, and cooking for her family and always making every holiday special. Survivors include daughters, Jennifer Campbell and Patti Campbell both of Watauga; grandsons, Raymond James 'Jamie'? Saults and Anthony Campbell and his wife, Nakisha, all of Watauga, and Seth Kiser of Elizabethton; one sister, Letha Lyon, Elizabethton; one brother, R.H. Berry and his wife, Jean, Watauga; sisters-in-law, Georgia Berry, Elizabethton and Beverly Berry, Carmichael, CA; brothers-in-law, Arthur 'Kenneth'? Keller and John H. Campbell and his wife Sue, Elizabethton and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Mrs. Campbells life will be conducted at 8 PM Thursday, April 23, 2009 from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel with Pastors Kenneth Jordan and Reverend Harold Mains officiating. A committal service will be held at 11 AM Friday, April 24, 2009 at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Raymond James 'Jamie'? Saults, Anthony Campbell, Seth Kiser, Robert Kiser, Norman Peters and Ronnie Hurley. Dean Robinson and Russell Curtis III will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. The family expresses a special 'thank you'? to the staff of Ivy Hall Nursing Home and the staff of the 300 floor at Sycamore Shoals Hospital for their loving care provided to Mrs. Campbell and to Pastor Kenneth Jordan for his many visits and prayers. In lieu of flowers, for those who wish the family request memorial contributions be made to Fairview Baptist Church Food Pantry, 585 Watauga Road, Watauga, TN 37694.
