Mrs. Ida Lee Garland Kelly, age 85, of 116 Hawthorne Church Rd., Johnson City, went to join her loving husband and heavenly Father on Thursday, September 10, 2015. Ida Lee was born in Johnson City, TN., on February 21,1930, a daughter of the late Ezekiel and Myrtle Garland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Richard William 'Chuck' Kelly in 2001, her brother Robert 'Bob' Garland and two sisters who died in infancy. She was a long-time member of Rich Acres Freewill Baptist Church. Ida Lee will be remembered for her loving, self-less nature for her years as a foster parent to numerous children who came to live with and be cared for by the Kellys. She touched many lives throughout those years and often provided a home for children who needed a place to go at a moments notice. Survivors include her three sons, Richard Lee Kelly and his wife Teresa, William Timothy Tim Kelly and Kevin Allen Kelly; one daughter, Susie Bailey and husband Reece, all of Johnson City; six grandchildren, Jeremy and Nick Kelly, Emma Grace Kelly and her mother Karen Kelly, and Timmy and Kimmy Bailey; one sister and brother-in-law, Kansas Clark and ByrI Clark; one very special niece, Linda Abel; one special foster daughter, Layla Luster; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family of Mrs. Ida Lee Garland Kelly will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Monday, September 14, 2015, in the Morris-Baker Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 7 PM with Rev. Kenneth Grindstaff and Rev. Richard Kelly officiating. Music will be provided by a niece, Joy Abel Scalf and Ethel Holtsclaw. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 2:30 PM Tuesday, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jeremy and Nick Kelly, Junior and Jeff Clark, Larry Abel, Sr., Larry Abel, Jr., Earl Hughes, Eddie Hartman, and Gary Gilley. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles ?Chuck' Lane, Tom Hyatt, Marvin Sheets, David Pollack, and Mike and Jeff Kelly. Ministers, family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 1:45 PM Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
