Ina Sue Watkins, a beloved wife, mother, and homemaker, passed away in Johnson City on August 1, 2024, on the same date as her husband Marvin Stewart Watkins, who preceded her in death in 1982. Born in Greeneville, TN, on August 31, 1931, Ina Sue touched the lives of many with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love. She was a dedicated member, historian, and pianist of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church since 1957.
Ina Sue will forever remain in the hearts of her daughters, Donna Bryant (Mike), Linda Motter (Wes), and Pam Moody (Jim); Eleven grandchildren Jeremy (Ann) Bryant, Natalie (Deidre) Bryant, Jonathan (Lindsay) Bryant, Nick (Kristin) Motter, Blake (Shannon) Motter, Tyler Motter, Sarah (Daniel) Varnell, Rachel (Dustin) Moody, Austin (Katie) Moody, Micayla Moody, and Haley Moody; Seven great grandchildren Mackenzie and Ainsley Bryant; Landon and Chase Motter; Grace, Allison, and Elizabeth Varnell, sister-in-laws Mary Sue Still and Nancy Watkins, and numerous nieces and nephews. Her legacy as a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend will continue to inspire those who knew and loved her.
Ina Sue was preceded in death by parents Harvie and Ruth Heck, sisters Mildred Duncan and Lois Heck, brother Zandy Heck, and many dear in-laws.
A private burial was held. A celebration of life service will be held at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church Johnson City TN on August 31, 2024 at 11AM. Family and friends are invited to join together to celebrate her life and share memories of the wonderful person she was.
