Margaret Inez Warfield, 87, of Johnson City, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018. Mrs. Warfield was born in Andalusia, Alabama, but had lived in Johnson City since 1973. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Lovell and Jewell Merrill Little. Inez graduated from Pleasant Home High School, Andalusia, AL, and Opelika Business College, Opelika, AL. She served as church secretary and pastor?s administrative assistant for: First Baptist Church, Montgomery, AL; Riverside Baptist Church, Tampa, FL; Ridglea Baptist Church, Fort Worth, TX; First Baptist Church, Sanford, FL; First Baptist Church, Pensacola, FL; Southwestern Baptist Church and Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church, Johnson City, TN. She held a part-time position with Morris-Baker Funeral Home following her retirement from Munsey in 1993. Of greatest significance was Inez?s 68-year partnership in ministry with Bill. She typed hundreds of sermons, itineraries and other documents generated from home. She was a faithful member of Central Baptist Church, Johnson City, where she was a member of the Christian Homemaker?s Sunday School Class, sang in the JOY choir, and volunteered in the church library. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend known for her generous, loving spirit, service and humility. She loved spending time with her family and especially times at her farm home in Alabama. In addition to her parents, Inez is preceded in death by: her brothers, Harold Eugene Little, Joseph Lovell Little, Jr., James Calvin Little, and infant brother, Charles Edward Little; granddaughter, Haley Paige Young; and son-in-law, Robert L. Odom. Survivors include: her husband of 68 years, R. Willard (Bill) Warfield; daughters, Debbie Odom, Barbara Smith and her husband Dennis, all of Johnson City, Revonda Young and her husband Bruce, of Asheville, NC; sister, Sue Mackel and her husband Richard, of Hamilton, GA; brother, Robert Little and his wife Pat, of Andalusia, AL; grandchildren, Dustin Odom, Hannah Farrior and her husband Paul, and Riley Stephenson, all of Johnson City, Deanna Odom of Austin, TX, Chelsea Young Setzer and her husband Zach, and Colin Young, all of Asheville, NC, and Parker Young and his wife Chelsea Faith, of Hendersonville, NC; and great-grandchildren, Miller James Farrior of Johnson City and Chance Gabriel Young of Hendersonville, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of the JCMC ICU, Dr. Jeff Farrow, and David and Denise Sibley for their compassionate care for Inez and the family during this difficult time. The family of Inez Warfield will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Central Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM with Dr. Tommy Hood officiating. A committal service will be held at Monte Vista Memorial Park following the funeral. Pallbearers will be: Dustin Odom, Colin Young, Parker Young, Bruce Young, Riley Stephenson and Kipp Stephenson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Music Ministry of Central Baptist Church, 200 N. Roan St., Johnson City, TN 37601 or the charity of the donor?s choice.
