Mrs. Iris Colleen Smith, 68, 1002 South Broadway Street, went to her heavenly home on Monday, July 27, 2015 at Appalachian Christian Village after a lengthy illness. She lived all of her life in Johnson City. Colleen was a member of Lighthouse for Jesus Church. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, Ada E. Miller and Hubert S. Miller; three brothers, Eddie Miller, Hubert Miller, and David Miller; and one sister, Connie Saylor. Survivors include her husband, Floyd Smith, Jr.; two daughters, Betty Kalogeros (John) of Johnson City and Jackie Spangler (Todd) of Nolensville; four grandchildren that were the light of their Nana?s life, Jim Kalogeros, Lexi Kalogeros, Samuel Spangler, and Claire Spangler; two brothers, John Miller (Dinah) of Rutherford, Virginia and Dean Miller (Karen) of Hickory, North Carolina; three sisters, Penny Hamaker of Johnson City, Pam Stratton of Hickory, North Carolina, and Cheryl Miller of Johnson City; and several nieces and nephews who dearly loved their ?Nene.' A funeral service was conducted Tuesday, July 28, 2015 in the Morris-Baker Oak Chapel under the direction of Pastor Bill Younce. A committal service is scheduled for 10 am Wednesday, July 29, 2015 in the Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends are requested to meet at Morris-Baker by 9:30 am to go in procession to the cemetery.
