Iris Marie Koone

Iris Marie Moore Koone, 84, of Jonesborough, died Monday, April 23, 2018 at her residence. She was a native of Kingsport, daughter of the late Arthur E. and Gertrude Johnson Moore. Iris was a retired CNA for the old Memorial Hospital and later the Johnson City Medical Center. She was raised in the Free Will Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, her husband, George Leonard Koone preceded her in death in 1973. A granddaughter, Deanna and two sisters, Donna and Ailene also preceded her. Survivors include: a daughter, Sherry Jones of Johnson City, a son, Michael Bentley of Johnson City and a daughter and son-in-law, Susan Riplow and Paul of Limestone; four grandchildren, Risa (& Jason), Josh, Amber and Michael; nine great grandchildren and three siblings, Patsy, Buddy and Melva, several nieces and nephews. Iris is to be cremated with a private interment alongside her husband at Happy Valley Memorial Park at a later date.
