Jack Cable, 80, of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away Tuesday, April 22, at the Mountain Home VA Center. He was a lifelong East Tennessee resident and the son of the late Hattie Lee and Dayton Calvin Cable. Jack was preceded in death by his brothers Kenneth and Buster Cable and wife Barbara Edwards Cable. Jack served his country in the United States Navy on the USS Wisconsin and USS Roanoke during the Korean Conflict between 1951 and 1954. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and VFW and was employed by Jarl Extrusions, later Alcan, from 1969 though 1998. Survivors include his sister Margaret (Delmer) Coffey of Titusville, Florida, son Bartley Craig (Barbara) Cable of Chandler, Arizona, and several nieces and nephews. The family of Jack Cable will receive friends from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM Thursday, April 24, 2014, in the Morris-Baker North Chapel. The funeral service will follow at 1 PM with Pastor Lon Tobin officiating. The graveside committal service will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The Boone Dam Post # 4933 and the Tennessee National Guard will accord military honors.
