Jack William Miller, 66, of Gray, died Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at the James H. Quillen Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He was a native of Johnson City, son of the late Charles William Miller and Elizabeth 'Betty'? Miller of Johnson City. He was a retired roofer and was of Presbyterian faith. Jack was a former member of the Gray Ruritan and Volunteer Fireman for the Gray Volunteer Fire Department. Jack was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the U. S. Marine Corps. In addition to his father a sister, Shirlene Miller, preceded him in death. Survivors include: his mother, Elizabeth 'Betty'? Smith Miller of Johnson City; a daughter, Jamie Miller of Gray; his former wife, Margaret Jo Miller of Gray; three sons, Jack Miller, Jr. of Gray, James Miller of Johnson City and Jody Miller of Jonesborough; a brother, Bill Miller of Johnson City; six grandchildren, Alyssa, Peydon, Joshua, Julie, Taylor and Trey; several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted on Monday, September 8, 2014 at the Mountain Home National Cemetery at 1:00 pm under the direction of Pastor Rob Aubrey. The U. S. Marine Corps will accord military honors. A procession will leave Morris '? Baker Funeral Home at 12:30 pm in route to the cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Gray Volunteer Fire Department, 107 Gray Ruritan Drive, Gray, TN 37615.
