James Allen Lunceford, 64, of Limestone died Monday, April 16, 2007 at his residence after an extended battle with cancer. A Washington County native, he was the son of Nancy Arizona Price of Kannapolis, NC and the late Clint Allen Lunceford. He attended Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Limestone. Mr. Lunceford was retired from Local 1607, where he worked as a millwright between California and Tennessee for thirty years. In addition to his mother, Mr. Lunceford is survived by his longtime friend and loving wife of more than eighteen years, Lee Kruse Lunceford; a son, Jimmy D. Lunceford of Lawndale, CA; a daughter, Tracey Lee Shaw and her husband Marvin Shaw of Cedar Hills TX; three step-sons, Gary Grout, Jr. of Wildomar, CA, James Pardue and his wife Rachelle of Tarzana, CA, and Rico Sagliani and his wife Nikki of Denver, CO; five grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; and a sister, Deborah Lunceford of Bluff City. An uncle and several aunts, a niece, Tamera Ashby and her husband Jerry Ashby; a nephew, Travis Adams and several cousins also survive. A funeral service for James Allen Lunceford will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at 1:00 PM at the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Limestone. The Rev. David Tydings will officiate. The family will receive friends for one hour before the service. A graveside committal service will follow the funeral in the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Gary Anderson, Wilbert Saults, James Harold Jones, Fred Gillespie, Douglas Adams, Travis Adams, Leroy Wanamaker and Jerry Ashby will serve as pallbearers.
