James David Pierson

SFC (ret) James David Pierson, 78, of 4721 Cuttermill Road, Martinez, GA, died Tuesday, July 4, 2006 at the Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Fort Gordon, GA. He was a Jonesborough, TN native and a son of the late David James and Pearl Goff Pierson. Mr. Pierson was a retired employee of Magnavox and was of the Baptist faith. He was an U.S. Army WWII and Korean War veteran. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mattie Ruth Pierson, an infant daughter, Betty R. Pierson, three brothers, three half brothers, and a sister. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Pierson of the home; four sons, Robert J. Pierson and Kail E. Pierson, both of Augusta, GA, Steven W. Pierson and James D. Pierson, Jr., both of Johnson City; a daughter, Theresa A. Hall, of Augusta, GA; three step-sons, William C. Buckland, Karl L. Buckland, and Michael D. Buckland, all of Augusta, GA; a brother, Worley Eugene Pierson, of Augusta, GA; and two sisters, Ella M. Holden and Georgia L. Richardson, both of Johnson City.
