Reverend J.D. Price began the eternal life he had so longed for at approximately 4:00 Friday morning at Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness. He designed and was heavily involved in the construction of Big Creek, Coxes Creek, and The Remnant Free Will Baptist churches. It was realized by J.D. that he had driven over a million miles while preaching at the various churches during his lifetime. J.D. was a member of the Johnson City Masonic Lodge #486. He was proud and grateful that God had given him the ability and opportunity to earn his living working with his hands. He found great joy in the nearness of God, the sunshine, and the song of the birds while incorporating his talents in landscaping and construction, evident in his handiwork around his home. He began his profession working with his dad and brothers for Price Brothers Construction Company. J.D. and his brother Steve were blessed to have worked successfully and happily together for over 40 years in their local construction business following their fathers retirement. One of his great personal lifelong pleasures was hunting arrowheads and indian relics in freshly plowed fields. J.D. realized the great price that was paid for the freedom we enjoy today, so he had a special curiosity about the Civil War and was equally interested in the detailed history of all the wars in which our country was involved.
