James Harold Dye

James H. 'Jay'? Dye, 71, of Jonesborough, died Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native of Ottawa, Tennessee, son of the late Muncie J. and Addie Lee Dunn Dye. James was a contractor and carpenter. He attended the Knob Creek Church of the Brethren. In addition to his parents, four brothers, Richard, Muncie, Jr., Donald and David M. Dye preceded him in death. Survivors include: his wife of 53 years, Shirley Russell Dye of the home; two daughters, Robin Jones (and Aaron Light) of Boones Creek, Lisa Simpson ( her husband Randall) of Jonesborough; three grandchildren, Brandi Quesinberry, Savannah LeBarre and Dalton Light; a great granddaughter, Ellie Grace Quesinberry; his sister and brother-in-law Nancy and Floyd Carr of Gray; a special friend, Linda Presnell; several nieces and nephews. A funeral service is scheduled for Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 8:00 pm in the South Chapel of the Morris '? Baker Funeral Home and Cremation Services under the direction of LeGrande Boyer. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until time of service at 8:00 pm. A committal service will be conducted on Friday, February 7, 2014 at the Monte Vista Memorial Park at 2:00 pm. Active pallbearers will be: Roger, Danny, Mike and Brad Dye, James and Sanford Crouch. Honorary pallbearers will be: Mark Carr, Rick Shepherd, Tony Dye and David Hollifield. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home to leave in procession by 1:40 pm.
