James Joe Freeman, Jr.

August 19, 1943 — April 29, 2007

James Joe Freeman, Jr., age 63, passed away Sunday April 29th,2007 at Indian Path Medical Center after a brief illness. He resided in Kingsport and retired from Tennessee Eastman after thirty-seven years of service. Mr. Freeman was a Christian. He loved life and all those around him. He had partnership with his family of the J.J. Freeman Farm. Mr. Freeman was the son of the late James Joe 'Jim'? Freeman, Sr. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Henry and Dollie Freeman, and Jimmy and Sarah Laws. Survivors include: his mother, Myrtle Laws Freeman of Jonesborough; his brother, Edward 'Butch'? Freeman and wife Kerry of Jonesborough; his sister, Mary Sue Hale and husband Ronnie of Kingsport; nephews, Joseph Freeman of Jonesborough, and Chris Hale of Kingsport; nieces, Katie Greene and husband Clark of Knoxville, Kathie Lewis and husband Billy Joe of Jonesborough, Emily Elbe and husband Justin of Jonesborough; three great-nephews, Andrew Greene, Noah Freeman, and Parker Elbe; four great nieces, Kelsey Greene, Kalen Lewis, Kara Lewis and Hannah Elbe; special friends, Argil 'Bovie'? Deakins and Renae Cloyd. The funeral service for James Joe Freeman, Jr. will be conducted at 8 PM Wednesday, May 2, 2007 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Rev. Steve Pate and Rev. Jerry Hall will officiate. The graveside service will be conducted at 1 PM Thursday in the Washington County Memory Gardens. Everyone will meet at Morris-Baker at 12:30 PM to go in procession to the cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Joseph Freeman, Justin Elbe, Clark Greene, Billy Joe Lewis, Argil 'Bovie'? Deakins, and Bob Compton. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dan Adams, Andy Isner, Jerry Jones, Rauls Bradford, Mark Baugh, Chris Hale, and many friends at 'The Rush'? The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday prior to the service. The family would like to extend a special thanks to all his caregivers at Indian Path Medical Center.
