James L. Rooke

Mr. James Leonard Rooke, 77, died Monday, June 11, 2012, at Johnson City Medical Center. James was a resident of Lakebridge Health Care Center before being hospitalized. A native of Rockport, Texas, he was the son of the late Chris C. and Bessie Clinton Rooke. James served in the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife Mary Lois Rice Rooke; and brother Chris Rooke; and sister. He is survived by his two daughters, Courtney Stark and husband John of Winston Salem, NC and Col. Jennifer Rooke of the Netherlands; and granddaughter Delaney Stark of Winston Salem, NC. Memorials may be made to Mountain States Hospice 101 Med Tech Parkway, # 100, Johnson City, TN 37604. A graveside service will be held, Thursday, 11am, at Mountain Home National Cemetery with Military Honors.
