James ?Jim' Lonnie Mann, Jr. of Johnson City passed away peacefully in his sleep at his residence early Saturday, November 28, 2015. He was a native of Kingsport, son of the late James ?Lonnie' Mann, Sr. and Kathleen Nolen Mann. Jim was a Kingsport resident for 46 years before moving to Johnson City in 1985. He was a member of First Christian Church of Kingsport. He was an accomplished pianist and taught music in his early years. Jim graduated Dobyns-Bennett High School in 1957, and later received a degree from East Tennessee State University. He received his Doctorate of Pharmacy from the College of Pharmacy in Memphis, TN. He retired from Kmart Pharmacy in Johnson City in 2014, after working at drug stores in Tennessee and Virginia throughout his career. In addition to his father, a sister, Mary Anne Mann, preceded Jim in death. Survivors including his mother; three sisters, Barbara June Shaw of Lonsdale, MN, Linda Kaye Maness and Deborah Gail Mann both of Kingsport; a niece Madeleine Miller and great-niece Zoe Douglas, along with other nieces and nephews. A gathering of friends will be held on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at the Morris-Baker Funeral Home from 2:00pm until 4:00pm.
