James A. Trivett, 78, died Monday, April 22, 2024, in his home in Jonesborough, TN. He was a Johnson City, TN native and lifelong resident of the area. He was a son of the late Terry A. and Esther Oaks Trivett.
He retired from his job with the City of Johnson City street department. He loved his job and was proud of his work.
At home, James loved living on his small farm, gardening and horseback riding. He loved Western movies, playing cards with family, and the big family dinners around holidays. His favorite thing to do was anything he did with his children.
He was a Christian.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by: his daughter, Carol Trivett; sisters, Helen Campbell and Ruby Barnett; and his brother, Terry “Junior” Trivett.
James is survived by: his daughters, Robin Reed, Karen Phillips, and Sabrina Tate; a brother, Joe Trivett; a sister, Louella Jackson; seven grandchildren; and many great and great-grandchildren.
The family of James A. Trivett will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday, April 26, 2024, in the Morris-Baker Dogwood Chapel. The funeral will follow at 7:00 pm with Rev. Richard Blankenship officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.
Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 am Saturday at Washington County Memory Gardens. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50 am for those services.
