James Whitney Justvig, 87, of Gray, died Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native of Kansas City, MO, son of the late Lt. Colonels Birger and Dorothy H. Whitney Justvig.
James was a retired financial analyst for IBM.
He was a member of Crossroads Christian Church.
James served his country during the Korean War in the U. S. Army.
In addition to his parents, his first wife Loretta Dever Justvig and a brother, David Bruce Justvig preceded him in death.
Survivors include: his wife, Louise Kite Justvig of the home; five children, Ernest J. (Beth) Justvig of Tuscon, AZ, Patrick B. Justvig of Nashua, NH, Donna Marie Carroll of Syracuse, NY, Loretta D. Balas of Barre, VT and James J. (Cheryl) Justvig of Poughkeepsie, NY; two step children, James and Abram Laws of Erwin; brother, Richard A. (Mary) Justvig of Arnold, MO; fifteen grandchildren, Jessica Deighan, Joanna Park, Jeremy Justvig, Michael Gleason, Erik Gleason, Brittney Justvig, Phillip Justvig, David Welz, Jacquelyn Fishburne, Whitney Glover, Orry Fishburne, Katherine Balas, Erin Balas, Mackenzie Justvig and Rylie Justvig; eight great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 28, 2019 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the Crossroads Christian Church. A funeral service is to follow at 2:00 pm under the direction of Major Richard Justvig and Mr. Curtis Booher. A committal service is scheduled for a later date in the mausoleum chapel at Washington County Memory Gardens.
