Jane Bolton McGillen, Johnson City, went Home Saturday, September 21, 2019, at Johnson City Medical Center.
Jane was born in 1932 in Johnson City to the late John Wesley Bolton, Sr. and Helen Maxine Missimer Bolton.
She graduated from Science Hill High School in 1950, where she played in the band and was an ROTC sponsor. She attended ETSU. Jane was a member of Munsey Memorial United Methodist Church. She was in Circle 1, a member of Board of Stewards, Altar Guild, and an original member of Martha Wexler/Mrs. Harr bible study group. She delivered for Meals on Wheels, was a member of House and Garden Club, Junior Service League, and Hearstly Club.
In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by: her husband, William D. “Bill” McGillen; and one brother, John W. Bolton, Jr.
Survivors include: one daughter, Linda M. Clark and her husband, W. Andrew Clark; one granddaughter, Shelley Clark Patterson and her husband Adam L. Patterson; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family of Jane McGillen will receive friends from 10 AM until 11 AM Thursday, September 26, 2019, at Munsey Memorial UMC. A celebration of life will follow at 11 AM with Rev. Patty Muse and Rev. Carol Wilson officiating. Pallbearers will be Brown Fellowship Class. The committal service will follow at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:15 PM.
