Janet Elaine Jenkins Williams

May 19, 1932 — July 6, 2015

Janet Elaine Jenkins Williams, 83, left this world for a better one on Monday, July 6, 2015. Janet was a lifelong resident of Johnson City, TN. She was happily married to Jack Williams (1929-2004) for 55 years. In their early marriage, Janet?s energies were focused on her family, but once she had an empty nest, she built a successful floral and decor business. She was a devoted wife and mother, outgoing friend to many, and faithful follower of Christ. In addition to her husband Jack, Janet was preceded in death by her parents William H. and Pearl Jenkins, sister Fern Pike, and brothers Bill Jenkins and Tommy Jenkins. She leaves behind three children and their families: son Doug Williams, daughter-in-law Linda, and Doug?s children Alyson Williams and Deanne Williams; daughter Jackie Williams, son in-law Roy Davis, and their daughter Jana Davis; son Scott Williams, daughter in-law Janie, and their daughter Jennifer Williams. Janet also has four great-grandchildren: Raina, Ryan, Jackson, and Danny. Janet enjoyed creating beautiful silk floral arrangements for her customers, she loved to sing and dance, and she was always ready for a new adventure. All of us who knew and loved her will cherish the memories of her laughter, independent spirit, generosity, curiosity, wisdom, and ?can do' attitude. To honor her memory, a Celebration of Janet?s Life will be held on Saturday, July 11, at Morris-Baker Funeral Home, beginning with visitation at 4:30 p.m. followed by a service at 5:30 p.m. The interment will be on Sunday, July 12, at 1:00, at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Minister, family, and friends are requested to meet at the cemetery for those services. The family would like to thank the many caregivers at Appalachian Christian Village and Pine Oaks Assisted Living for the tender care that our mother has received. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Benevolence Fund at Appalachian Christian Village, 309 Princeton Rd., Johnson City, TN 37601 or to Mountain States Hospice, 101 Med Tech Parkway Suite 100, Johnson City, TN 37604.
