Jennie Grubbs

Mrs. Jennie Grubbs, 94, 1103 Ronald Lane, Johnson City, passed away Friday, February 4, 2011 in the Brian Center, Mooresville, North Carolina. Mrs. Grubbs was a native of Vine Grove, Kentucky who had lived most of her life in Johnson City. She was the daughter of the late Jim Shelburne and Mollie Whitehead Shelburne. In addition to her parents her husband, B.W. Grubbs; two brothers; two sisters also preceded her in death. Mrs. Grubbs was a homemaker. She was one of the oldest members of Boone Trail Baptist Church and used to serve in the capacity of hostess at the church. She was also very active in PTA and the Girl Scouts. Survivors include: one son, Barry J. 'Jim'? Grubbs and his wife Jane of Mooresville, North Carolina; two daughters, Betty Daniel of Baltimore, Maryland and Brenda Higgins of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren, Cary Daniel, Vickie Singer, Kent Daniel, David Higgins and Danny Higgins; seven step grandchildren; one great grandchild; special friend, Jimmy Patterson. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to Boone Trail Baptist Church, 1985 Carroll Creek Road, Johnson City, Tn. 37615. A graveside service for Mrs. Jennie Grubbs will be conducted at 11:15 AM Monday, February 7, 2011 in the Mont Vista Memorial Park. Dr. Randy Helms will officiate. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends at Morris-Baker from 10 to 11AM Monday prior to the service.
