Jennie Lee Ottinger

Jennie Lee Ottinger, 77 of Johnson City died at Hillview Health Center in Elizabethton on Wednesday, July 1, 2020. She was a native of Johnson City, daughter of the late Wilson McKenney and Sally Isabell DeVault Sims. Jennie was retired transcriptionist. She worked for over thirty years for Johnson City Internal Medicine at this calling. Had been known to say she could type for ten hours a day and not even be tired.

She was a member of First Christian Church for forty five years. Jennie loved to read in her spare time and enjoyed watching birds and squirrels.

In addition to her parents, her husband William G. “Bill” Ottinger; two step-sons Rodney and Glen; her sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Harold Newland all preceded her in death.

Those left to cherish her memory, a nephew, Jerry Miller, special cousins, Jane Byrd and Carolyn Dawson and several other cousins.

There will be a visitation on Sunday, July 5, 2020 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Morris-Baker Funeral Home in the Maple Room. A graveside service will be conducted following at Roselawn Memory Gardens at 3:00 pm under the direction of Donald Mushayamunda. Family and friends are asked to assemble by 2:50 pm at the cemetery.
