Jerry Dean Reese

Mr. Jerry Dean Reese, age 66, of Catawba, South Carolina, passed away January 22, 2013, at his residence. Mr. Reese was a native of Johnson City and had lived most of his life in Johnson City. He was the son of the late Bill Reese, Sr. and Ava Boone Reese. In addition to his parents, three brothers, Roy Reese, Tommy Reese and Ricky Reese; two sisters, Sherry Reese and Diane Reese also preceded him in death. Mr. Reese was a decorated veteran having retired from the U.S. Army after twenty-three years of service. He was proud to be a veteran. Survivors include his loving wife, Cynthia Myers Reese; three beloved daughters, Dena Reese, Shannon Reese Hudson and Heather Reese Adams; two sons, Joseph Reese and Jason Childress; four brothers, Bill Reese, Jr., Carroll Reese, Cecil Reese, Raymond Reese and Terry Reese; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; life long friend, Pat Freeman. The funeral service for Mr. Jerry Dean Reese will be conducted at 7 PM Sunday, January 27, 2013, in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Pastor Lon Tobin will officiate. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 2:30 PM Monday, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The Boone Dam Post # 4933 and the Tennessee National Guard will accord military honors. Family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 1:45 PM to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 PM Sunday, prior to the service.
