Jerry L. Copas

Jerry L. Copas, 67, Johnson City, died Sunday, February 1, 2009 at the Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Copas was a native and lifelong resident of Washington County. He was a son of the late Horace and Dansford Copas. Mr. Copas was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. He was a former employee of ARC Tile Company. Survivors include two daughters, Lisa Ford and her husband, Sam and Karen Ferguson and her husband, Gary all of Johnson City; two granddaughters, Brandy Copas and Channa Ford; one grandson, Dustin Honeycutt; three brothers, George Copas, Joe Copas and David Copas all of Johnson City; two sisters, Louise Tolley and Sue Nickles both of Johnson City and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service for Mr. Copas will be held at 2:30 pm Thursday, February 5, 2009 at Lyons Chapel cemetery, Elizabethton, TN. Reverend Kinley Knight will officiate. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 1-2 pm Thursday at the funeral home and at any time on Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at the home of his brother, David and Barbara Copas, 767 Austin Springs Roads, Piney Flats, TN
