December 31, 1941 — January 17, 2012

Mr. Jerry L. Slagle, age 70, of Johnson City, passed away, Tuesday, January 17, 2012 in the Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Slagle was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City. He was the son of the late LeeRoy Slagle and Beatrice Reedy Slagle. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by one brother, Dean Slagle. Mr. Slagle was a hair designer and owned and operated Jerry Slagles Hair Fashion Forum. He started his business in 1973 and worked until he retired in 2006. Not only was it his mission to be a successful business owner but, it was also his mission to make a difference in peoples lives. While fighting the challenges of life, he always put others needs before his. He is one of a kind and for that we are blessed. Survivors include: one son, Jarrod Slagle of Johnson City; two daughters, Jeri Slagle of Johnson City and Nikki Slagle Lunsford of Memphis; three brothers, Sam Slagle and his wife Jaynell of Boones Creek, Rick Slagle and his wife Mary Ann of Knoxville and Glenn Slagle and his wife Judy of Gray; one granddaughter, Haley Lunsford of Memphis. The funeral service for Mr. Jerry L. Slagle will be conducted at 8 PM Thursday, January 19, 2012 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Chaplain Clint Williams will officiate. The graveside committal service will be conducted at 10 AM Friday in the Boones Creek Christian Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jarrod Slagle, Ted Bradford II, Travis Hathaway, Jim Hooker, Donnie Basinger, Ronnie Yaber and Jason Paul. Minister, family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home by 9:15 AM Friday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday prior to the service.
